چکیده

Multipath routing protocols for Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET) addresses the problem of load balancing, scalability, security and life time of networks. In this paper, we propose a new multipath protocol, Stability and Energy Aware Multipath Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector (SEAM-AODV) protocol which is an enhancement of Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV) protocol. It designs a bi-objective optimization formulation to compute the reliability factor based on the stability and residual energy of nodes, through cross layer approach. The reliability of the multiple paths is increased through node disjointness. The path with the highest reliability factor value is selected as the primary path for data transmission. It also employs effective route maintenance mechanism to reduce the frequency of route recovery. This protocol is compared with other similar routing protocol: AOMDV. We use ns-2 for simulation. Our simulation results show that, the proposed protocol reduces the packet loss by up to 25 – 35 % and routing overhead by about 3240 %. It also accomplishes 10 13 % higher packet delivery ratio.

Link-stability and Energy Aware Multipath Routing in MANET

Energy conservation is important for mobile ad hoc networks where devices are expected to work for longer periods of time without the need for charging their batteries. Therefore there is a need of an intelligent routing protocol that can minimize overhead and ensure the use of minimum energy routes. In Progressive Energy Efficient Routing, energy efficient shortest paths are selected with mini...

Energy Aware Multiple Constraints Multipath QoS Routing Protocol with Mobility Prediction for MANET

This paper presents a source based reactive protocol called “Energy aware Multipath QoS Routing Protocol with Mobility Prediction (EMQRPMP)” for MANET. It is the enhanced version of the existing protocol called “Power aware Multiple QoS constraints Routing Protocol with Mobility Prediction (PMQRPMP)”. It considers quality of service constraints namely delay, delay-jitter, bandwidth, and cost fo...

Probabilistic Approach for Selecting Energy Aware Stable Path in Wireless Sensor Networks

In multipath communications of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), data packets are forwarded towards the static base station (BS) through a number of paths, using a set of relay nodes. The shortest path between a source node and the destination node does not always guarantee a stable path. In this paper, a probabilistic approach for selecting energy aware stable path in WSN is proposed by which i...

Energy Aware Adhoc On-demand Multipath Distance Vector Protocol for QoS Routing

Mobile Adhoc Networks (MANETs) are infrastructure-less, dynamic network of collections of wireless mobile nodes communicating with each other without any centralized authority. A MANET is a mobile device of interconnections through wireless links, forming a dynamic topology. Routing protocols have a big role in data transmission across a network. Routing protocols, two major classifications are...
